Brothers Employment & Training provides accessible online workforce education for individuals seeking to explore electrical and industrial career pathways, strengthen foundational technical knowledge, improve workplace readiness, and prepare for additional education, employer-sponsored training, or apprenticeship opportunities.

BET offers self-paced online courses and live instructor-led training through the Canvas learning platform. Each course has its own format, access period, curriculum, price, and completion requirements.

Course1 : Electrical Foundations and Workforce Readiness

Build a Strong Foundation for the Electrical Workforce

Electrical Foundations and Workforce Readiness introduces participants to electrical career pathways, workplace expectations, foundational electrical concepts, tool awareness, safety practices, and professional readiness. The course is designed for individuals who are new to the electrical field or who want a structured introduction before pursuing employment, employer-sponsored training, apprenticeship opportunities, or additional education.

  – Participants Will Explore: Electrical career pathways, workplace safety awareness, basic electrical terminology, tools and equipment, professional communication, attendance and workplace expectations, career planning, resume and interview preparation, and opportunities for continued education and training.

  – Best Suited For: Entry-level learners, career changers, young adults, unemployed or underemployed individuals, and people exploring electrical careers.

Course2 : Applied Electrical Systems Fundamentals

Strengthen Practical Electrical Knowledge

Applied Electrical Systems Fundamentals provides accessible education in electrical circuits, systems, safety practices, code awareness, and troubleshooting concepts. The course supports participants who want to strengthen their technical understanding before entering additional training, pursuing employment opportunities, or advancing within a related workplace setting.

  – Participants Will Explore: Electrical-system fundamentals, basic circuit concepts, electrical calculations, wiring and schematic awareness, electrical-hazard recognition, safe work practices, troubleshooting principles, National Electrical Code literacy, and professional responsibilities in electrical environments.

  – Best Suited For: Individuals with introductory electrical knowledge, maintenance workers, workforce-program participants, and learners preparing for additional technical education.

Course3 : Industrial Systems and Maintenance Fundamentals

Explore Industrial Equipment, Systems, and Maintenance Practices

Industrial Systems and Maintenance Fundamentals introduces participants to the systems, equipment, safety practices, and maintenance concepts commonly found in industrial and manufacturing environments. The self-paced program supports career exploration and technical skill development through flexible online lessons and simulator-based educational content.

  – Participants Will Explore: Industrial electrical systems, motors and motor controls, preventive maintenance, equipment inspection, basic troubleshooting, industrial safety, control systems, schematics and technical documentation, and maintenance responsibilities and workplace expectations.

  – Best Suited For: Entry-level maintenance workers, industrial career seekers, incumbent workers seeking broader knowledge, and individuals exploring manufacturing or industrial-technology careers.

Completion of a BET workforce course may support career preparation and continued learning, but participants remain responsible for meeting all employer, apprenticeship, licensing, and regulatory requirements applicable to their chosen career path.

Brothers Employment & Training works to reduce barriers to education and employment by providing accessible learning opportunities, community-based education, career-readiness resources, and connections to continued training and workforce opportunities.

Subject to available funding, BET may provide:

Course fees, grants, donations, and sponsorships are used to support BET’s charitable and educational mission and expand access to programming for individuals and communities with limited educational or economic resources

Workforce-program disclosure

BET’s workforce courses are general educational, career-exploration, and professional-development offerings. They are not TDLR-approved continuing education courses and do not independently provide electrical licensure, professional certification, registered-apprenticeship status or credit, college credit, guaranteed employment, guaranteed wages, or authorization to perform work requiring a professional license.

Self-paced courses do not require completion of a fixed number of instructional hours. Participants receive access for the published period and complete applicable activities and requirements through Canvas. Applied Electrical Systems Fundamentals includes 24 scheduled hours of live instruction over six weeks.

Already hold a Texas electrical license?
Mastering the NEC is BET’s separate four-hour TDLR continuing-education course for eligible Texas electrical license holders.
