Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: August 19, 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern use of the Brothers Employment & Training website, enrollment in BET educational offerings, access to BET’s Canvas learning environment, and use of BET course materials and
services.
By using this website, submitting an enrollment or information-request form, purchasing a course, accepting Canvas access, or participating in a BET educational offering, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and agree to these Terms and Conditions, together with the applicable course description, Refund and Cancellation Policy, and Privacy Policy.
- About Brothers Employment & Training
Brothers Employment & Training (“BET”) is a Texas-based nonprofit workforce education organization providing online electrical, industrial, maintenance, safety, workforce-readiness, and continuing-education opportunities.
BET operates through a fully virtual educational model. Courses are delivered online through Canvas and other approved virtual-learning technologies.

The administrative office is not a student instructional campus. Unless BET expressly announces otherwise, participants are not required to attend this location for instruction. - Educational Offerings
BET currently provides two categories of educational offerings:
Non-TDLR Workforce Education
BET’s non-TDLR workforce courses include:
Electrical Foundations and Workforce Readiness
Applied Electrical Systems Fundamentals
Industrial Systems and Maintenance Fundamentals
These courses are educational and professional-development offerings. They do not provide TDLR continuing-education credit and do not independently award:
A Texas electrician license
Professional or industry certification
Registered-apprenticeship enrollment or credit
College credit
Documented on-the-job training hours
Authorization to perform work requiring an occupational license
Guaranteed employment, promotion, or wages
TDLR Continuing Education
Mastering the NEC: 4-Hour Texas Electrical Continuing Education is administered separately for eligible Texas electrical license holders.
Brothers Employment & Training is TDLR Continuing Education Provider No. 2514, and Mastering the NEC is Course No. 32647.
The course provides four hours of approved electrical continuing education for eligible participants who satisfy all applicable course requirements. - Electrical Foundations and Workforce Readiness
Electrical Foundations and Workforce Readiness is a self-paced online workforce-education course. The course is structured to provide introductory education related to electrical career pathways, workplace safety awareness, basic terminology, tools and equipment, professional communication, workplace expectations, career planning, and workforce readiness.
The defined instructional content is designed for completion within 24 hours or less.
Participants receive 30 consecutive days of Canvas access beginning on the applicable course-access
date.
The 30-day access period is an access window and does not represent required instructional or seat-time
hours.
The course:
Does not include scheduled live instruction
Does not award TDLR continuing-education credit
Does not award college or apprenticeship credit
Does not result in a BET Certificate of Completion
Does not provide an occupational license or professional certification
Participants may independently review applicable course and supplemental resources during the available
access period. - Industrial Systems and Maintenance Fundamentals
Industrial Systems and Maintenance Fundamentals is a self-paced online workforce-education course addressing industrial systems, equipment, maintenance practices, troubleshooting concepts, workplace safety, motor controls, technical documentation, and related professional-development topics.
The defined instructional course is designed for completion within 24 hours or less. Participants receive 90 consecutive days of Canvas access, generally available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, subject to normal platform availability and scheduled maintenance.
Optional Supplemental Resource Library
Enrollment also provides access to an extensive optional technical-resource library containing approximately 240 hours of additional lessons, demonstrations, simulations, practice activities, and reference materials.
The approximately 240 hours describe the amount of supplemental educational content available within the resource library.
These supplemental resources:
Are not required instructional hours
Are not required seat time
Are not required to satisfy the instructional scope of the defined course
Do not award additional credit or units
Do not provide apprenticeship or licensing hours
Do not result in an additional credential
Are available for independent learning and professional development during the applicable access period
Industrial Systems and Maintenance Fundamentals does not include scheduled live instruction and does not result in a BET Certificate of Completion. - Applied Electrical Systems Fundamentals
Applied Electrical Systems Fundamentals is a six-week, live instructor-led online workforce-education course.
The course includes:
Four scheduled live instructional hours per week
Six weeks of instruction
24 total live instructional hours
Applicable Canvas course materials
Instructor guidance and coaching
Supplemental review resources
Participants are expected to complete the 24 scheduled instructional hours through live attendance or an approved makeup process.
Participants may receive up to six months of access to applicable course materials and supplemental review resources beginning on the cohort start date. Extended Canvas access does not increase the required instructional length of the course beyond the 24 scheduled instructional hours.
Participants who satisfy the published attendance, participation, approved makeup-work, and applicable course requirements may receive a Brothers Employment & Training Certificate of Completion.
The BET Certificate of Completion documents completion of BET’s educational requirements. It is not a Texas electrician license, professional certification, apprenticeship credential, college credential, TDLR continuing education credit, or guarantee of employment. - Mastering the NEC — TDLR Continuing Education
Mastering the NEC is a separate four-hour online continuing-education course for eligible Texas electrical license holders.
Participants must complete the full four-hour course and all applicable participation and verification requirements to qualify for continuing-education credit.
Partial continuing-education credit is not available.
After successful completion, BET may:
Verify course completion
Issue applicable completion documentation
Report qualifying course completion to TDLR
Participants are responsible for providing accurate legal names, license numbers, license types, and other requested information.
Course completion does not automatically renew an electrical license. Participants remain responsible for satisfying all TDLR renewal requirements, submitting applicable applications, paying required fees, and confirming their continuing-education record. - Regulatory Status
BET will identify when an educational offering is approved, regulated, exempted, or otherwise recognized by a governmental or licensing authority.
No statement on the BET website should be interpreted as representing that a non-TDLR workforce course has received governmental approval, licensing, accreditation, or exemption unless BET expressly states that such determination has been received.
Mastering the NEC is administered separately under BET’s TDLR continuing-education provider authorization.
BET may modify course descriptions, enrollment procedures, disclosures, or administrative processes when necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, or written determinations issued by TWC, TDLR, or another governmental authority. - Enrollment Eligibility
Participants are responsible for reviewing the applicable course description before enrolling.
Eligibility requirements vary by course.
BET may request information necessary to:
Verify participant identity
Establish Canvas access
Determine course eligibility
Process payment
Maintain enrollment records
Administer continuing education
Meet applicable regulatory requirements
Submitting an enrollment form does not by itself guarantee enrollment or immediate access to a course. BET may decline or delay enrollment when required information is incomplete, payment is not confirmed, eligibility requirements are not satisfied, or enrollment would conflict with an applicable legal or regulatory requirement. - Course Descriptions and Pre-Enrollment Disclosures
The current course description, price, instructional format, access period, applicable completion requirements, and refund terms form part of the participant’s enrollment terms.
For any course subject to a legal or regulatory requirement for advance disclosure, BET will provide the required written course description and refund information within the timeframe required by applicable law or regulatory determination.
Participants should review all applicable disclosures before submitting payment or beginning course
activity. - Tuition and Payment
Current course prices are displayed on the applicable course page, registration materials, or payment page. Payment must be completed through an authorized payment method unless BET has approved a written scholarship, sponsorship, payment plan, or other arrangement.
Enrollment is not considered fully activated until applicable payment and administrative requirements have been satisfied.
Participants are responsible for ensuring that payment information is accurate and authorized.
Scholarship, employer-sponsored, grant-funded, or organization-sponsored enrollments may be subject to additional written terms. - Canvas Access
BET primarily uses the Canvas learning management system to deliver online educational content.
Canvas access is issued to an individual participant and may not be shared.
Participants are responsible for:
Maintaining a valid email address
Protecting login credentials
Using their own Canvas account
Promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access
Accessing materials before the applicable access period expires
Access periods begin on the date identified in the applicable enrollment or activation communication.
Failure to log in or use available course resources does not automatically pause or extend an access period.
BET may approve an extension when permitted under the applicable course policy, but extensions are not guaranteed. - Technology Requirements
Participants are responsible for maintaining reasonable technology necessary to participate in online education, including:
Reliable internet access
A compatible computer, tablet, or device
A working email address
A supported web browser
Audio capability for course videos
A camera and microphone when required for live instruction
BET may provide reasonable administrative or technical assistance but cannot guarantee the performance of a participant’s personal device, internet provider, third-party software, or external technology. - Participant Responsibilities
Participants are expected to:
Provide accurate registration information
Review applicable course requirements
Complete their own course activities
Participate professionally in live sessions
Respect instructors and other participants
Follow applicable safety instructions
Protect account credentials
Use course materials only for authorized educational purposes
Comply with applicable laws and these Terms and Conditions
Providing false enrollment information, impersonating another participant, allowing another person to complete course requirements, or attempting to falsify attendance or continuing-education completion may result in suspension or termination of access. - Attendance and Makeup Requirements
Attendance requirements apply to courses identified as live instructor-led.
Applied Electrical Systems Fundamentals requires participants to complete all 24 scheduled instructional hours through live attendance or an approved makeup process.
When BET permits makeup work, requirements may include:
Reviewing a recorded session
Completing associated Canvas activities
Completing a knowledge check
Submitting an assignment or summary
Meeting with the instructor
Access to a recording does not automatically satisfy attendance requirements.
TDLR continuing education is subject to the participation and completion requirements applicable to the approved course. - Certificates and Completion Documentation
BET does not issue Certificates of Completion for:
Electrical Foundations and Workforce Readiness
Industrial Systems and Maintenance Fundamentals
BET may issue a Certificate of Completion for Applied Electrical Systems Fundamentals after applicable requirements are satisfied.
BET issues applicable completion documentation for Mastering the NEC after successful completion and verification.
A BET certificate or completion record does not constitute an occupational license, professional certification, apprenticeship credential, college credential, or guarantee of employment unless expressly stated otherwise by an authorized third party. - Simulations and Virtual Learning Tools
BET may provide virtual simulations, demonstrations, interactive activities, technical diagrams, and similar
educational resources.
These resources are intended to support conceptual understanding and virtual practice.
They do not replace:
Supervised field experience
Registered-apprenticeship requirements
Employer-provided training
Equipment-specific qualification
Required hands-on laboratory instruction
Occupational licensing
Workplace authorization
Applicable safety procedures
Participants should not perform regulated electrical, industrial, or maintenance work solely on the basis of
completing an online BET activity or simulation. - Refunds, Cancellations, Transfers, and Course Credits
Refunds, cancellations, transfers, access extensions, and course credits are governed by BET’s current Refund, Cancellation, Transfer, and Course Credit Policy and any greater right provided by applicable law or regulatory requirement.
Participants should review the Refund and Cancellation Policy before submitting payment.
When an applicable law, rule, TWC or TDLR requirement, regulatory determination, or written enrollment agreement provides greater participant protection than these Terms, the more protective requirement will control. - No Employment or Career Outcome Guarantee
BET provides educational and professional-development opportunities.
BET does not guarantee:
Employment
Job placement
Interviews
Promotion
Specific compensation or wages
Employer acceptance
Apprenticeship acceptance
Occupational licensing
Examination eligibility
Examination passage
Admission to another educational institution
Advancement within a particular occupation
Employment and career outcomes depend on factors outside BET’s control, including participant experience, employer requirements, economic conditions, licensing requirements, and individual performance. - No Licensing or Apprenticeship Guarantee
Except for approved continuing-education credit specifically associated with Mastering the NEC, participation in a BET course does not independently satisfy licensing, apprenticeship, college-credit, or occupational certification requirements.
Participants are responsible for verifying the requirements of TDLR, employers, apprenticeship sponsors, educational institutions, and other applicable organizations. - Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, BET course materials and website content—including original text, presentations, videos, diagrams, instructional materials, course organization, assessments, and other BET-created resource —are owned by or licensed to Brothers Employment & Training.
Course access is provided for the participant’s personal educational use.
Participants may not, without written authorization:
Reproduce or redistribute BET course materials
Sell or sublicense BET content
Upload protected course content to another platform
Share Canvas credentials
Record or redistribute live sessions
Copy assessments for unauthorized use
Use BET materials to create a competing commercial course
Remove copyright, attribution, or ownership notices
Third-party content remains subject to the rights and terms of the applicable owner or provider. - Prohibited Conduct
Participants may not:
Attempt unauthorized access to BET systems
Interfere with Canvas or website operations
Introduce malware or malicious code
Circumvent access restrictions
Falsify attendance or completion
Harass instructors, staff, or participants
Use BET services for unlawful activity
Infringe intellectual-property rights
Share another participant’s private information without authorization
BET may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect participants, staff, systems, course integrity, or regulatory compliance.
Any refund rights following suspension or termination remain subject to applicable law and the Refund and Cancellation Policy. - Third-Party Services
BET may use third-party services for:
Canvas learning management
Website hosting
Online forms
Payment processing
Email communications
Video conferencing
Website analytics
Administrative and recordkeeping functions
BET does not control every aspect of third-party service availability.
Use of third-party platforms may also be subject to the provider’s own terms and privacy practices. - Privacy
BET’s collection, use, storage, and sharing of personal information is governed by its current Privacy Policy.
Participants should review that policy before submitting enrollment, payment, contact, or licensing information.
TDLR continuing-education participants acknowledge that BET may provide qualifying course-completion and license-related information to TDLR as necessary to administer continuing education. - Course and Website Availability
BET works to provide reliable access to its website and online educational resources but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Temporary interruptions may result from:
Maintenance
Internet outages
Canvas or third-party service interruptions
Security events
Technical failures
Events outside BET’s reasonable control
BET will make reasonable efforts to restore affected services and provide appropriate participant support when a material interruption affects course access. - Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, BET is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising solely from use of the website, temporary technology interruptions, participant equipment failures, or a participant’s independent use or application of educational information.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be waived.
BET’s educational content should not be used as a substitute for required professional supervision, licensing, employer procedures, equipment-specific instructions, or applicable safety requirements. - Changes to Courses or These Terms
BET may update these Terms and Conditions, course descriptions, administrative procedures, technology platforms, schedules, or educational resources when reasonably necessary.
Material changes affecting a participant’s existing enrollment will be communicated when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect participant interests.
The Effective Date at the top of this page identifies the current published version. - Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by applicable federal law and the laws of the State of Texas.
Any provision that conflicts with a mandatory legal or regulatory requirement will be interpreted to provide the protection required by applicable law. - Severability and No Waiver
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
BET’s decision not to enforce a provision on one occasion does not constitute a permanent waiver of that provision. - Contact Information
