About Us

Brothers Employment & Training (BET) is a Texas-based nonprofit workforce education organization focused on expanding access to practical electrical, industrial, maintenance, safety, and workforce-readiness education.

BET was created to provide flexible learning opportunities for individuals who may face barriers to traditional technical education because of work schedules, transportation, geography, family responsibilities, or other circumstances.

Through self-paced online courses, live instructor-led learning, virtual simulations, and structured Canvas resources, BET provides learners with opportunities to strengthen foundational knowledge, explore technical career pathways, and better understand workplace expectations and professional responsibilities.

BET does not seek to replace registered apprenticeship, supervised field experience, employer-provided training, or traditional trade education. Instead, our goal is to provide an additional educational resource that helps learners become more informed, better prepared, and more confident as they consider their next steps

Brothers Employment & Training works to expand access to affordable, industry-informed technical education and workforce-readiness resources that support professional development, continued learning, and pathways toward economic mobility.

Emmanuel Edmonds, Founder and Executive Director of Brothers Employment & Training

edward

Emmanuel Edmonds is the founder and Executive Director of Brothers Employment & Training. He is a currently licensed Texas electrician, electrical contractor, technical instructor, curriculum developer, industrial service professional, and OSHA Outreach Trainer. With more than 15 years of professional experience, Emmanuel’s background includes residential, commercial, and industrial electrical work; engineering maintenance; industrial automation; electromechanical systems; troubleshooting; preventive maintenance; technical service; customer training; and technical education.

His interest in the skilled trades began with formal electrical training at Coyne College in Chicago, where he completed the Electrical Maintenance and Construction program in 2004. He later earned an Associate in Applied Science in Industrial Automation and Technology from Prairie State College and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Management, Instructional Technology, Training and Evaluation from Northern Illinois University.

Emmanuel’s professional experience has allowed him to see technical education from several perspectives — as a learner, electrician, contractor, service engineer, instructor, and curriculum developer. Through EE Electrical LLC, he has worked in electrical installation, maintenance, project coordination, troubleshooting, and National Electrical Code-compliant applications across residential, commercial, and related environments. His industrial experience includes work as a service engineer supporting equipment installation, preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, technical demonstrations, and customer training across numerous industrial customer locations. As a technical instructor, Emmanuel has taught electrical, electronics, and industrial automation concepts in both traditional classroom and remote-learning environments. His instructional work has included lesson planning, curriculum development, student assessment, technical demonstrations, and helping learners understand complex concepts through clear and practical instruction. Education has remained an important part of Emmanuel’s professional journey. His studies in instructional technology strengthened his interest in how modern learning tools can make technical subjects more accessible to today’s learners. That interest ultimately helped inspire the development of Brothers Employment & Training. BET reflects Emmanuel’s belief that new educational technology and traditional trade instruction do not have to compete with one another. Online learning, interactive simulations, digital resources, and flexible access can provide valuable educational opportunities while still honoring the safety, accountability, repetition, technical accuracy, and respect for craftsmanship that have long been part of skilled-trade education. Emmanuel continues to learn through field experience, teaching, curriculum development, code study, and interaction with other professionals. Through BET, his goal is to share useful knowledge, create accessible educational resources, and provide learners with another pathway for exploring and developing within technical fields.

Electrical Foundations and Workforce Readiness and Industrial Systems and Maintenance
Fundamentals
are self-paced educational offerings and do not result in a BET Certificate of Completion.
Participants in Applied Electrical Systems Fundamentals who satisfy the published attendance,
participation, and course requirements may receive a Brothers Employment & Training Certificate of
Completion. This certificate documents completion of BET’s educational requirements and is not an
